The system enables the individual tracking of 7.3 million patients.

The Electronic Medical Record (DPI) is active across 13 health regions.
➔ Operational digital systems: include the SIH, DPI, Santé CIV for appointments, OpenELIS for laboratories, and mSupply for medicines.
➔ The critical challenge now: is interoperability to ensure these platforms communicate with each other.
➔ The ultimate goal: is a continuous care pathway from rural health centers to reference hospitals.

It is critical to implement a unique patient identifier linked to civil identification (ONECI) and Universal Health Coverage (CMU).
Connectivity in rural areas is limited. Less than 5% of primary care facilities were equipped as of March 2025.
Securing sustainable financing to cover recurring costs is essential.
The national target is to digitize over 2,000 health facilities.
The country plans to expand connectivity to all health facilities.
Strengthening data governance, regulatory frameworks, and cybersecurity is a top priority.
These steps are necessary to prepare for the gradual deployment of Artificial Intelligence within an ethical and secure framework.
Reliable, structured, interoperable, and secure data is the primary fuel for artificial intelligence.
